Tuition for August 2025 to May 2026

Dallas private school tuition - arboretum science

Class Size:

Oak Crest Private School offers very small classes where students receive a tremendous amount of one-on-one attention from their teachers. The typical class size has about ten students per teacher. Students are individually programmed to make optimum progress. This really allows bright children to excel.

Oak Crest Private School’s effectiveness is reflected in student results. Our students take the Terra Nova test annually, a widely used standardized exam, often scoring a full grade level or more ahead.

Recently, our third to eighth graders averaged in the 93rd percentile, meaning they outperformed 93% of test-takers nationwide. Perhaps the most amazing thing is that we do not “teach for the test.”—our hands-on approach ensures true comprehension and nourishes the student’s joy of learning. Math is interactive, and science is experiment-driven, allowing students to see concepts in action.

Our goal is to build a strong educational foundation, equipping students with the skills to excel academically and in life. We want students to understand and be able to apply what they study and produce the desired results in whatever they decide to do.

Like every parent, we want them to reach their full potential.

School Schedule and Extended Days:

The regular school day is from 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM five days a week. Before- and after-school care from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM and from 3:45 PM until 6:00 PM are available for $200 per month for all regularly enrolled students. This fee includes childcare on days when the school does not have classes but provides daycare. Daycare days are shown on the annual school calendar.

Tuition Includes the Following:

Tuition covers core academic subjects as well as music, art, physical education, technology and Spanish following our proven, challenging curriculum. Tuition also includes the cost of local field trips. Most classes do about nine field trips that relate to their curriculum each year. Tuition also includes the following enrichment programs for three-year-olds: music, art, gardening, Spanish and early reading. For four-year-olds it includes: music, art, physical education, Spanish, gardening, mathematics and early reading and writing. Extra-curricular after-school programs, such as ballet, LEGO Club, cheer team, ceramics, guitar, piano and more are offered at an additional cost. Call or visit the school for information about currently offered after-school classes.

Meals

Parents send lunches and snacks with their children. On every Friday, parents have the option of ordering food for approximately $5.00-$10.00.

Tuition Payments

A non-refundable payment of the tuition for the last month of the school year, the enrollment fee and the enrollment contract are required to enroll a child after the child is admitted. For parents who choose not to pay the tuition monthly, there is an annual prepayment discount of 5% and a semester prepayment discount of 2.5%.

Family Discount

Families with more than one child enrolled at Oak Crest Private School receive a family discount. The youngest child pays full tuition. An additional child enrolled receives a $200 per month discount, a third child enrolled receives a $300 per month discount, a fourth child enrolled receives a $400 per month discount, etc.

Need-Based Financial Aid

Oak Crest Private School offers need-based financial aid. The application is submitted to ISM FAST, an independent outside company, that evaluates the difference between what the school charges and what a family can reasonably afford to pay.

Before a student can be considered for financial aid, he or she would need to apply at and be accepted by Oak Crest Private School. ISM FAST will use a family’s most recent tax return as well as additional information, similar to what might be gathered to file taxes.

Full Tuition before any Discounts is as Follows:

Student Age on Sep. 1 Enrollment Fee Monthly Materials Fee Monthly Tuition Yearly Totals (Ten Months) Monthly Fee for Extended Day (8:00am-6:00pm)
3 and 4 $200 $50 $1,400 $14,000 $200

School Supplies

Students are expected to obtain certain supplies for themselves and the class. The school provides textbooks, curriculum materials and art supplies, and these are covered by the monthly materials fee. If the materials fee for the entire school year is paid in advance and is received by May 14th for the following school year, the annual materials fee is reduced from $500 to $450. The materials fee may also be paid as ten monthly payments of $50 a month for each month of the school year.

The Admissions Process

The first step in the admissions process is for a parent to participate in a tour of the school. Following that, the child or children are scheduled for a trial and testing day at the school. Parents are required to submit the application form and the child’s school records no later than the scheduled testing day. If the student qualifies for admission, the parents are notified no later than two weeks after the trial day.

Once all necessary documents have been uploaded, ISM FAST evaluates what it has received and then sends their recommendations regarding financial aid awards to the school. Financial aid award decisions are first come first served and are based upon qualifications and availability.

Applications for financial aid are required annually.

Other Options to Consider with Your Accountant or Financial Planner:

Coverdell Education Savings Account:
  • Allows you to deposit up to $2,000 per year in an investment account
  • Contributions are not tax deductible but you do not pay taxes on the earnings
  • Funds must be used to pay tuition and other qualified expenses (Kindergarten – 8th grade)
Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (see Publication 503; www.irs.gov) Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account – Employers must sponsor a Flex Spending Account (FSA). Up to $5,000 per plan year can be set aside in a FSA. Typically the plan year is a calendar year. Money contributed to a FSA is a pre-tax deduction and therefore subtracted from the paycheck before income taxes and Social Security/Medicare taxes are withheld.
