On most days, students spend some time working on academics. Our campers do not suffer from backsliding in their learning over the summer! Individualized programs allow children to advance at their own pace and to focus on their interests. Fascinating hands-on courses keep them engaged. They can advance as soon as they have mastered the materials being learned. This makes learning fun and summer an excellent time to improve skills or to explore new subjects.
Our youngest campers are involved in lots of projects and playful learning activities. They are introduced to the alphabet and phonics while cutting, gluing and coloring fabulous creations. Every day sends them on a new adventure during the non-academic portion of the day.
Early elementary age children typically work on their phonics, handwriting and reading skills. Math skills can also be drilled and computer skills can be introduced.
Older elementary and middle school aged children can choose from a wide selection of courses ranging from reading improvement and study skills through science and geography. They also participate in weekly science days, where students perform intriguing experiments intended to ignite curiosity and teach basic science principles.
The rest of the day is spent enjoying a huge variety of adventures and creative opportunities. Summers at Oak Crest are packed with outings, art projects, music, cooking and crafts. Students go swimming, roller-skating, ice-skating, visit a petting zoo, explore great playgrounds and more. All groups are small, allowing children to receive close supervision and individual care at all times.
Since we keep our groups small, children find it easy to make friends. Each child receives a lot of individual attention. Our kind, experienced teachers make sure that the children are safe and have a good time.
We offer eight weeks of summer camp. Parents can choose to sign up their children for either of our four week sessions or for individual weeks as needed. There is a minimum sign-up of two weeks. The regular camp day is from 8:30-3:45, Monday to Friday. Extended hours are available from 7:30AM to 6:00PM.
Campers can be between three and a half and twelve years old. Three-year-olds must be out of diapers.

“It’s a different school than other schools. It’s a school where the teachers give one-on-one attention to the students, so they can learn more, and actually understand what they have been taught. They have taught me more and made me understand every little thing. I highly recommend it.”
