About

Biography

Kindra is nearing ten years of service at Oak Crest. During her tenure, she served as our Form 2 and Form 1 teacher. She also taught Middle School math. After years of success, she transitioned to become our school art teacher and a student support specialist. She is utilizing her wealth of knowledge to assist students one-on-one when they are struggling and beautifying our halls one art project at a time.

Kindra taught art using many types of media at Mission Renaissance for several years in Pasadena, California. As a young teen, she lived in Tanzania, East Africa for a year and a half. During that time, she went on safari, experienced the diverse culture of Dar es Salaam, and attended church out in the bush. She is a loving mother and grandmother. Naturally, Kindra enjoys photography and painting. She is working on a Native American-themed children’s book.

What is your favorite thing about Oak Crest?

It is the sense of community amongst the staff and parents, the multi-national student population, and the school’s competency-based methodology that makes this an excellent school and a great place to work.

Favorite Books:

The Dune Series by Frank Herbert and The Last Herald Mage by Mercedes Lackey.

Favorite subject in school:

English was one of my favorites when I found out I had a love of creative writing. Of course, I loved my art classes which allowed us all to create wonderful things and learn new techniques. Another subject I had, and have, a fondness for is mathematics. I just really enjoy getting into complex problems and solving them.
