About
Biography
Ms. Edith joined Oak Crest in 2021 and is now in her fifth year at the school. She brings more than a decade of teaching experience from her native Mexico and has been teaching in the Dallas metroplex since 2018. Throughout her career, she has taught students across all grade levels, from pre-kindergarten through high school, and brings a wealth of expertise in language instruction.
Beyond the classroom, Ms. Edith is a dedicated mother of two sons, Santiago and David, and a proud pet parent to a rescued cat and an Australian shepherd. She enjoys long walks by the park and lake, and she is currently learning calligraphy and watercolor painting as new creative hobbies.
What is your favorite thing about Oak Crest?
I love helping students uncover their purposes for education. I feel accomplished when students realize and reach their goals.
Favorite Books:
The Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien
We Are Legion (We Are Bob) series by Dennis E. Taylor
Foundation series by Isaac Asimov
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
Ender’s Game series by Orson Scott Card
Favorite subject in school:
My favorite subject in school was mathematics. In my eyes, it was very precise. There were no subjective answers. It was easy to resolve, like following a recipe.
