Biography
Ms. Mikayla is in her second year at Oak Crest. She brings experience as a preschool teacher and behavior therapist, with a strong background in child development and parenting. She began at Oak Crest in 2024 as a Beginner 2 teacher before transitioning to Form 1 in the fall.
Beyond her classroom work, Ms. Mikayla is an avid reader and writer who enjoys time in nature, cooking, and swimming. She is also a proud mother and pet owner, spending much of her free time with her son and three pets.
What is your favorite thing about Oak Crest?
My favorite thing about Oak Crest is the sense of community and collaboration among staff and students. I also appreciate the diverse perspectives that students bring, which foster growth and enrich discussions.

Favorite subject in school:
My favorite subjects to learn as a student are art and psychology. My favorite subject to teach is reading. It is the foundation for all learning, and witnessing the moment a student decodes a word or connects with a story is incredibly rewarding. I love watching their critical thinking and empathy grow.
