The typical class size has about ten students per teacher. Students are individually programmed to make optimum progress. This really allows bright children to excel.

School Schedule and Extended Days:
The regular school day is from 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM five days a week.  Before- and after-school care from 8:00 AM (7:30 AM by request) to 8:30 AM and from 3:45 PM until 6:00 PM are available for $200 per month for all regularly enrolled students. This fee includes childcare on days when the school does not have classes but provides daycare. Daycare days are shown on the annual school calendar.

Tuition Includes the Following:

Tuition covers core academic subjects as well as music, art, physical education, technology and Spanish following our proven, challenging curriculum. Tuition also includes the cost of local field trips. Most classes do about nine field trips that relate to their curriculum each year. Tuition also includes the following enrichment programs for three-year-olds: music, art, gardening, Spanish and early reading. For four-year-olds it includes: music, art, physical education, technology, Spanish, gardening, mathematics and early reading and writing. Extra-curricular after-school programs, such as ballet, LEGO Club, cheer team, running team, guitar, piano, percussion and more are offered at an additional cost. Parents send lunches and snacks with their children. On every Friday, parents have the option of ordering food for approximately $5.00-$9.00.

Tuition Payments:

A non-refundable payment of the tuition for the last month of the school year, the enrollment fee and the enrollment contract are required to enroll a child after the child is admitted. For parents who choose not to pay the tuition monthly, there is an annual prepayment discount of 5% and a semester prepayment discount of 2.5%.

Family Discount:

Families with more than one child enrolled at Oak Crest Private School receive a family discount. The youngest child pays full tuition. An additional child enrolled receives a $200 per month discount, a third child enrolled receives a $300 per month discount, a fourth child enrolled receives a $400 per month discount, etc.

School Supplies:

The school provides textbooks, curriculum materials and art supplies, and these are covered by the monthly materials fee. If the materials fee for the entire school year is paid in advance and is received by May 14th for the following school year, the annual materials fee is reduced from $500 to $450. The materials fee may also be paid as ten monthly payments of $50 a month for each month of the school year.

The Admissions Process

The first step in the admissions process is for a parent to participate in a tour of the school. Following that, the child or children are scheduled for a trial and testing day at the school. Parents are required to submit the application form and the child’s school records no later than the scheduled testing day. If the student qualifies for admission, the parents are notified no later than two weeks after the trial day.

Need-Based Financial Aid 

Oak Crest Private School offers need-based financial aid. The application is submitted to ISM FAST, an independent outside company, that evaluates the difference between what the school charges and what a family can reasonably afford to pay.

Before a student can be considered for financial aid, he or she would need to apply at and be accepted by Oak Crest Private School. ISM FAST will use a family's most recent tax return as well as additional information, similar to what might be gathered to file taxes. The link to apply is: Once all necessary documents have been uploaded, ISM FAST evaluates what it has received and then sends their recommendations regarding financial aid awards to the school. Financial aid award decisions are first come first served and are based upon qualifications and availability.

Applications for financial aid are required annually.

Coverdell Education Savings Account:

  • Allows you to deposit up to $2,000 per year in an investment account
  • Contributions are not tax deductible but you do not pay taxes on the earnings

Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (see Publication 503;

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account - Employers must sponsor a Flex Spending Account (FSA). Up to $5,000 per plan year can be set aside in a FSA. Typically the plan year is a calendar year. Money contributed to a FSA is a pre-tax deduction and therefore subtracted from the paycheck before income taxes and Social Security/Medicare taxes are withheld.
