Early Kindergarten

Advancing at their own Pace with Full Mastery

Amy reading

Oak Crest Private School routinely delivers early kindergarten to four-year-olds. Our action-packed classrooms are bustling with the excitement of children learning new skills. Every child at the school receives a personal program that is followed at the child’s own pace until he or she has fully mastered the subjects being learned. Friendly, caring teachers guide students through their programs to ensure that steady progress is made, full comprehension is achieved and that students continue to enjoy learning.

Small, Safe and Friendly Classes

Small class sizes create a safe environment that allows children to receive a lot of teacher attention and thrive. Reading is taught with a proven phonics-based curriculum. Through this solid academic foundation, children develop a lot of confidence as they advance into more difficult materials. Fun activities, outdoor playtime, learning games and songs are intermixed with work to keep children engaged.

Children a Year or More Ahead of Their Peers

It is not uncommon to find that children attending Oak Crest Private School are a year or more ahead of children their age from other schools. We have never had a four-year-old who could not read.

A Huge Variety of Life Experiences

Picking peasAn early start to academics is coupled with a huge variety of life experiences. Students participate in many hands-on projects and go on at least one field trip each month. Children grow plants for our flower and vegetable garden and enjoy daily read-aloud stories by the teacher. Students participate in art, music, P.E. and Spanish classes every week and have the opportunity to sign up for additional classes, such as ballet, hula hoop, hip hop or piano after school.

A typical school day for our early Kindergarten students begins with songs and ends in the triumph of new things learned and new skills mastered.

Parent Testimonial

“Fantastic school. The teaching method is extremely effective and my son now LOVES to learn. At 4 years old he is reading, doing math, and problem solving. I could not have done better myself and am so grateful for the teachers and staff who are dedicated to my son’s success. If you are looking for a school which your child will love and where he will be eager to learn, this is the home for them.”
